Hub and Slider
Hub and sliders are replaced on any rebuild through us. Most tranny shops skip this very important part. The hub and slider will make or break the quality of a shift. The pic below is of a slider that is worn. Note the teeth at the top are rounded off and worn out. They are supposed to have a clean sharp edge. This will make the synchro blocker ‘slip’ and make the tranny grind when shifting at high RPM. It will also give a ‘notchy’ feel:
This next pic is of the hub. This unit has what is called chatter wear. This gives the tranny a notchy feel as well:
We also replace all the keys and springs. When you get a tranny from us, you are literally getting all new synchro parts. Everything that makes the synchro work is brand new!
