Aluminum Shift Forks
Many other tranny builders like to replace the factory aluminum shift forks with steel aftermarket units. Pics below of OEM broken 1-2 and 3-4 forks:
The steel units are known to wear in a very short amount of time and don’t give you as nice of a ‘feel’ when shifting. With our double synchros, most of the load on the forks is eliminated, so the need to upgrade them is unnecessary. We replace the 1-2 fork with a new later fork which is a little stronger, and we modify the OEM 3-4 fork so it will never break. We have yet to have anyone break our forks. If you insist on steel forks, we carry them in stock and can install them only on request.
