Stage 3 'Indestructible' (8-9)
EVO 8 & 9 Transfer Case Rebuild. This is for ACD and NON-ACD.
The difference between the Stage 2 and this Stage 3 build is this one includes absolutely everything we offer to give you the best, and strongest, t-case available on the market today! We have been unable to find anyone else who will offer this extreme of a t-case for the EVO, and the labor involved for this build, due to the bearing modifications, is outrageously high.
This rebuild includes:
- New Jacks Trans REM ISF Micropolished ring and pinion gear-set
- Upgrading the case bolts from 8MM to 10MM to prevent case and gear breakage
- Tighter bearing preloads
- New seals and o-rings (excludes ACD piston seals)
- Complete tear down and cleaning using state -of-the-art equipment HERE
- ACD clutches modified to give you more center diff LSD action
- ACD unit tested under pressure to assure no leaks or fluid mixing
- Removal of all pinion shims to square up the assemblies more accurately. This will prevent any shifting or movement under extreme conditions
- New ACD seals (piston and hub) are available, if needed. (additional charge)
- Wavetrac LSD
We modify the pinion bearings to sit tighter and machine them to fit perfectly inside the housings without the use of the pinion shims. The pinion gear shims used by everyone are not accurate enough for the tolerances we set your ring and pinion to in this build! During high powered and shock loading applications, the shims can compress which will change the bearing preloads and gear contact. With no shims around the pinion gear, that is no longer possible.
For those of you with an ACD t-case, we also modify the clutches in the ACD assembly to give you more limited slip action!
Please note that if your t-case is making whining noises then the ring and pinion gears are wiped out. Don't worry! This rebuild will take care of that issue!
This rebuild has been known to work in cars with enough power to squeeze into the 8s. As long as you follow our directions for fluid fill procedures, fluid type and change frequency, you will not be able to break this transfer case. Info about that can be found HERE. You will break everything else in your drive-train before this T-Case will have a problem.
We will also upgrade the front LSD to the best, a Wavetrac. The Wavetrac diff is the strongest unit you can buy for the EVO T-Case and is a part you will never have to worry about breaking. For you drag racers, the Wavetrac also has an added cam inside to allow for LSD action even in a straight line!
Have a rally car which breaks T-Cases every time you are air-born and slam the ground at wide-open-throttle? We have the Pikes Peak Hill Climb right here in our back yard and know what it takes to make a T-Case live under extreme conditions! We always watch people from out-of-state break their T-Cases built by a competitor. They rarely realize that an indestructible T-Case option is right here at Jacks Transmissions which will dominate the mountain. The truth is - Having a cheap T-Case break due to a sponsorship is not worth it when it makes you lose the race.
With the best cleaning equipment, we also have a very clean facility. All units are built in a spotless environment and using tools, and benches, which are clean and only used for assembly purposes. In other words, the same tools used to pull your dirty old t-case out of your car are NOT the same tools used to rebuild your pristine unit afterward. Take a look at the typical shop and check their tools. It is shocking how dirty things are in most shops and that dirt will end up in your unit. That doesn't happen here.
Your unit is also shipped in a double walled custom made box for Jacks Transmissions. Your unit will be sitting snugly, and safely, in preformed foam pads to assure a trouble free delivery.
